| The 9th, 8th, 3rd, 4th and 2nd pictures are all mine :) I love taking pictures. Not that they're particularly awesome haha. Anyway, here's another update after like a year haha.
1. When adults say, "Teenagers think they are invincible" with that sly, stupid smile on their faces, they don't know how right they are. We need never be hopeless, because we can never be irreparably broken. We think that we are invincible because we are. We cannot be born, and we cannot die. Like all energy, we can only change shapes and sizes and manifestations. They forget that when they get old. They get scared of losing and failing. But that part of us greater than the sum of our parts cannot begin and cannot end, and so it cannot fail.
2. You know when you go on a date and you’re kinda stressing about the end of the night and you know that her house is right around the corner? And you’re like “Fuck, fuck. What am I gonna do? Walk her to her door and hug her?” And you decide to walk her up to the door and if you’re lucky, she kisses you first, and you might do it all night long. You have done it. I’ve done it twice. But love is an amazing thing and I’m telling people at all the shows that when you really fall in love, it kinda tears your heart out of your chest and makes you feel really vulnerable. It makes you feel like you can’t eat, you can’t sleep, and you stand by the phone all day and night. Besides the long shit, it’s the best thing you’ve felt in your life. | I'm such a slacker with updates. I'm just so busy with things right now. I'm taking 18 units at school, working 14 hours a week (I know it doesn't sound like much, but it's stressful on top of classes), my classes all go until 10pm M-W and on Tuesday they start at 10 and pretty much last the whole day, Thursday I get out at 215, and work Friday/Saturday. So, Sunday is my only day off really. I'll try to update more, but I pretty much only do it when I think about it which isn't very often haha. Anyway, I do always update my personal Xanga with random thoughts and sometimes pictures. It's not very exciting, but if you're ever bored :)
1. Never love a wild thing. You can't give your heart to a wild thing: the more you do, the stronger they get. Until they're strong enough to run into the woods, or fly into a tree. Then a taller tree. Then the sky. That's how you'll end up, if you let yourself love a wild thing. You'll end up looking at the sky.

| Sorry the update is kind of small. I couldn't find any quotes I really liked.
One) Usually when I was alone in the house during the evening, I had to turn on every single light, but I didn't care that night. So what if a hand came out from under the bed and grabbed me? That would be nothing. They say that certain things are going to be terrible and that they are going to destroy you, but they don't. I You walk around like you're okay. Maybe you're not, at least not today. The sun's not shining, but there's no rain. This feeling of missing you is driving me insane
.
Two) I think we're all a lot happier when we're seventeen. i think it's this magical age where we're not worried about the future, and the past is so far behind us. we don't care about the trivial stuff and we don't make anything into a bigger deal than it needs to be. we should all be so lucky to learn from our seventeen-year-old selves.
Three) To the girls who are surviving high school:
it's okay to feel emotions other than hate or resentment and to let yourself cry (not just because of a fight with your mom). you have to allow yourself to like boys, to put your heart out there. vulnerability is quite possibly the scariest yet most exciting feeling you can allow yourself. and if you do like a boy, tell him. but try not to idolize anyone. guys make some of the best friends, too. most of them won't admit it, but they are capable of feeling weak and they do listen. not just about the new jeans at Hollister, but they have this intuition that i could never grasp and can help you gravitate toward the girls who won't put you down so they feel better about their own lives. make a lot of mistakes, but make sure they're worthwhile. and when you're done, learn from them. it's okay to drink once in a while but not every day and don't go around flaunting it. stay modest but take compliments. keep doing whatever it is you love. know that answers will rarely come to you so keep guessing. tell your parents some things, but not all, or they'll grow suspicious. and know that the best way to live is that you can't stop crying on the day you move away. take advantage of all four years because as much as you'll love senior year, it goes too fast and you'll want another one. and last, don't be afraid to blast your car stereo. music was meant to be played loud with the windows rolled down.

Four) The best moments in reading are when you come across something, a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things that you'd thought special, particular to you. And here it is, set down by someone else, a person you've never met, maybe even someone long dead. And it's as if a hand has come out and taken yours.

I know I haven't updated in forever. I am so so so sorry. I just have been so busy ever since school started. Way too much was going on with school, work, boyfriend, and my roommates, but now it's summer (again) and I'll try to update at least once a week. I'm starting to get back into quotes and pictures. I loveeee them all. :)

Two) we've all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers. we have heard our grandparent's warnings about wasted time. we have read plenty of poems that urged us to seize the day. still sometimes, we have to see for ourselves. we have to make our own mistakes. we must learn our own lessons. we have to sweep today's possibilities under tomorrow's rug, until we can't, anymore; until we finally understand for ourselves.
Three) and then i felt sad because i realized that once people are broken in certain ways, they can't ever be fixed, and this is something that nobody ever tells you when you are young and it never fails to surprise you as you grow older and you see the people in your life break one by one, you wonder when your turn is going to be, or if it's already happened.
Four) Go be that starving artist you're afraid to be. Open up that journal and get poetic finally. Volunteer. Suck it up and travel. You were not born here to work and pay taxes. You were put here to be part of a vast organism to explore and create. Stop putting it off. The world has so much more to offer then what's on 15 televisions at TGIFs. Take pictures. Scare people. Shake up the scene. Be the change you want to see in the world. You'll thank yourself for it.
Five) Some people turn sad awfully young. No special reason, it seems, but they seem almost to be born that way. They bruise easier, tire faster, cry quicker, remember longer and, as I say, get sadder younger than anyone else in the world. I know, for I'm one of them.
Six) There is always one person you love who becomes that definition. It usually happens retrospectively, but it happens eventually. This is the person who unknowingly sets the template for what you will always love about other people, even if some of these lovable qualities are self-destructive and unreasonable. The person who defines your understanding of love is not inherently different than anyone else, and they’re often just the person you happen to meet the first time you really, really, want to love someone. But that person still wins. They win, and you lose. Because for the rest of your life, they will control how you feel about everyone else.
Seven) Ever have that one person in your life that you just can't give up on, the one person who can screw you over time after time yet you always seem to give them another chance, & no matter how many times you say this is their last one, you know it's a lie because there's always just one more waiting for them? The one person you know you're better off without but yet you can't find a way to let them go because deep down inside you wouldn't know what to do without them? Eight) We've got our deepest hopes tattooed on our eyelids, so when we sleep we speak fireworks.
Nine) I was naive and wide eyed, but you made me see that you dont get to taste the honey without the sting of a bee.....
Ten) I have wondered if so many destructive addictions - whether they’re drinking, sex, drugs, shoplifting - are because that person would really like to be a painter or something, but doesn’t have the guts to be that creative painter. So they anesthetize that frustration, that sense of failure, that fear, by doing the destructive thing. It’s a huge act of faith to put yourself out into the world and say ‘I’m going to create’.
Eleven) Over the past year, I've learned so much about love & life. Even if I could, I would never take back all the things I've done that brought me here, to this moment.
Twelve) Sometimes it’s hard to stay mad when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst.

Nineteen) It`s actually pretty amazing when you love life. It`s something you look forward to, and suddenly who you are and who your friends are doesn`t really matter anymore. It`s what you do that makes things special.
Twenty) I believe we write out own stories and each time we think we know the end, we don`t. Perhaps luck exists somewhere between the world of planning, the world of chance, and the peace that comes from knowing that you just can`t know it all. You know, life`s funny that way. Once you let go of the wheel, you might end up right where you belong.
